Ordering
How do I order a custom cake?
Start with an inquiry. Share your date, guest count, and a sense of the design, and Mariya will reply personally within 2 to 3 business days. From there we send a tailored design proposal and quote, then move on to tasting, refinement, and booking.
How much do your cakes cost?
Every cake is priced individually, around your guest count and the level of detail. Custom orders begin at $250, and wedding cakes begin at $500. You will receive a full quote with your design proposal.
How far in advance should I book?
As early as you can, especially for weddings and peak-season dates. We take a limited number of commissions each month to protect the quality of every piece, so popular dates fill quickly.
Do you require a deposit?
Yes. A deposit secures your date and reserves your commission, with the balance due before delivery. The exact terms are set out in your booking agreement.
Tastings and flavours
Do you offer tastings?
A tasting box is included with every wedding cake commission. From time to time it is also released on its own as a seasonal drop, available for pickup at the studio.
What flavours do you offer?
Twelve to choose from: six signature flavours and six off-menu, and every cake can be tailored from there. You can see the full menu on our Flavours page.
Can you accommodate allergies or dietary needs?
Tell us what you need and we will do our best to accommodate common requests. Please note our kitchen handles nuts, dairy, gluten, and eggs, so we cannot guarantee a cake is free from cross-contact.
Delivery and pickup
Do you deliver?
Yes. We deliver within 50 km of our Mississauga studio, and tiered cakes are delivered and set up by the studio so they arrive flawlessly. Pickup can be arranged for smaller orders.
Where are you located?
We are a home studio in Mississauga, in the greater Toronto area. The exact address is shared with your booking, or at checkout for pickup orders.
Toolkit and Academy
What is the LAYER'D Toolkit?
The professional tools this studio uses to price, plan, and build every cake, made available to other bakers. It is $10 USD a month, or $99 USD a year, and installs on your phone like an app. You can try the free tools any time.
When does the Academy open?
The LAYER'D Academy opens Winter 2026–27. Join the waitlist for first access and founding pricing, and active Toolkit members receive $100 off enrollment.
